Promise Place provides an Emergency Shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. This is a place for victims to turn to for safety. It is the first Department of Human Resources certified emergency domestic violence shelter in the Griffin Judicial Circuit, serving Fayette, Spalding, Pike and Upson counties.
24 Hour Crisis Hotline - 770-460-1604
The crisis hotline is answered 24 hours a day by trained professional staff. The crisis hotline is available to provide assistance in emergency situations. Promise Place provides assistance in obtaining emergency services during a crisis emergency.

Emergency Domestic Violence Shelter
Promise Place provides an emergency shelter for victims and their children at their most dangerous time. On average a victim and her children will stay at this safe, confidential location for 30 to 60 days. A case manager provides assistance to the families to develop a case plan to help move them from a state of dependency in their abusive situation to self-sufficiency and the ability to support themselves and their children in a home free from violence. Promise Place is a DHR certified facility. The location of the shelter is confidential.
Support Groups
Support groups for victims of domestic violence meet several times a week throughout the Griffin Judicial Circuit, which include Fayette, Spalding, Pike and Upson counties. Childcare is available. Please contact the administrative office at (770) 461-3839 for more information.
Legal Advocacy
Promise Place provides assistance with legal advocacy. Promise Place is the only organization in the Griffin Judicial Circuit that provides assistance in filing Temporary Protective Orders (TPO’s). This is a legal remedy that assists victims of domestic violence and their children in obtaining protection through the judicial system. The Temporary Protective Order (TPO) can grant a victim safety by ordering the abuser to stay away, custody of minor children, and financial support. Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program
Promise Place provides education through our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program. Our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program is presented to primarily 9th grade students in the Griffin Judicial Circuit. Promise Place provides this educational program to over 2,500 students a year. Please contact Promise Place at our Administrative Office at (770) 461-3839 for more information about this program.
Safety Planning
Promise Place provides assistance with safety planning for all victims of domestic violence and their children that services are provided to. Promise Place wants to assist, ensuring the safety of all victims of domestic violence and their children.
Children's Program
Promise Place provides a children’s program to all children that are in our emergency shelter. In many cases, children are the silent victims. Promise Place wants to ensure that children receive needed services to assist in their recovery.
Community Education
Promise Place is available to provide community education. Topics covered include information about domestic violence, the cycle of violence, and the effects of domestic violence. Promise Place also provides information about the services that we provide as well as information on how you can get involved. Education about our Program can meet any timeline. Promise Place provides education to any religious, civic, business, or governmental organization.
