How to Become a Volunteer

Promise Place could not serve the community without the continued support of our volunteers. We are very thankful for all the help we receive from our volunteers. There are many ways to volunteer at Promise Place.

Below is a list of volunteer activities:

  • Answer 24 Hour Crisis Hotline
  • Donate Non-Perishable Food, Paper Goods and Cleaning Supplies
  • Transportation And Relocation Assistance
  • Childcare For Weekly Support Groups
  • Become A Community Advocate
  • Become A Board Member
  • Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program Presenter
  • Work At Thrift Shop
  • Help With Special Events, Projects And Fundraisers

    Volunteers are required to complete a 10-hour orientation program and attend additional training for specialized opportunities. Direct service volunteers working in the emergency shelter or with children are required to have a TB test, a physical, a background check and undergo fingerprinting for the national database. All activities must be completed before performing duties.
